Excerpt from a speech by Bob Proctor (author's trans.):
Steve Jobs put it very well—what did he say?
He said you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.
So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in the future. That means you are always stepping into the unknown, into a place where you have never been before.
You can view this as frightening or foolish—because a little fear is always present—or you can see it as a magnificent opportunity: every day is a new venture.
Here I am, I know how I got here, and that is where I want to go.
The moment your belief aligns with a certain state, you fuse with it—you fuse with the idea; that is exactly what happens. When your belief becomes one with a state, this union leads to the activation and projection of the associated plots, plans, conditions, and circumstances.
As if by a sudden jolt, everything changes. This new state of consciousness becomes your home, from which you view the world.
If you are attentive, you will see how outer reality shapes itself according to the model of your imagination—it is our imagination that is at work here. All sorts of strange things happen as soon as you commit to it—but you have to commit to it.
You see, that is exactly how it works. You cannot foresee what must happen; you must trust and act as if you are already the person you want to become. However, you must also be aware that people around you will say, "Who are you trying to play? You're just kidding yourself—come on."
People will laugh at you. "Why are you doing that?" You have to be strong enough to say: "Too bad, you don't really know who I am. I am just in the process of finding out who I am."
But only a few people manage that; it is not easy. I think it is perhaps three out of a hundred who do it. But when you do it, the path suddenly opens up. And before you know it—damn it all—you've reached your goal. And you just think: Wow. Wow. You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only do that looking backwards.
Then you look at the whole thing, take the leap, and say to yourself: "I need to get there"—and you realize that this place actually exists. You go there and find: There really is something there. These are all real places. It is real, even if we are experiencing it for the first time—perhaps no one has ever been there before. Perhaps you have never done anything like this before. But you can do it. Everyone can do it, so I can do it too—that is simply magnificent; both of us can do it. The path suddenly appears on its own.

"Steve Jobs put it very well, what did Jobs say? He said you can´t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust the dots will somehow connect in the future. That means you´ll always gonna be walking into the dark, you´ll gonna be walking into a place you have never been. And before you know, what the hell you´re there. And you think wow. Wow.
You can´t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards.
